So you may think this is a difficult topic or something for nerds, but it is actually very useful and can help solving complex problems in the world, imagine something like Auto-piloted cars, or a machine that can talk to you and understand you, a computer is not very different than a little kid (a super smart little kid).

Can do complex math operations but still needs to know concepts and get experience, this is when machine learning becomes important. Machine learning provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed. Machine learning focuses on the development of computer programs that can access data and use it learn for themselves.

Machine learning is based in algorithms, this is just a set of instructions, like a cooking recipe it has steps of how the things should be done

This is a picture to explain how the learning works

the input layers are the data you give to the machine(Like how you feel and symptoms), like when a kid reads a book will eventually understand concepts about what he reed.

Now imagine you are not feeling good, instead of going to the hospital you can ask a machine that knows everything that a human doctor knows about what you need, the machine learning is a key step in this because it provides capability to the machine to do medical diagnosis, image processing, prediction, classification, learning association, regression etc. The intelligent systems built on machine learning algorithms have the capability to learn from past experience or historical data. this means the machine can diagnose you like a human doctor would.

And this is just an example, imagine self-driving cars, automated food tenders, Machines that can talk to you and understand you, this is all possible with the machine learning, Remember it may sound like a hard topic but its now so different from teaching a kid.

There are other concepts, similar to machine learning like deep learning, but most of them lead to the same result, just doing it from different ways like adding 2+3=5 and 3+2=5 it will always lead to the same result just in a different way. And this is all i hope you understood what machine learning is and why is it useful
